Dinos After Dark FAQ
There will be three ticketed sessions for Dinos After Dark at Melbourne Zoo.
Entry to the event is via Main Gate only. Please note, Rail Gate entry will be closed.
Sessions entry times available are 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 6:30pm. Visitors will be admitted entry based on their booked session.
The event will conclude at 8:30pm.
If you are running late do not worry, Main Gate entry will remain open for the duration of the event. You and your guests will not be turned away. The last entry to the Dino Trail will be 7:30pm.
Enjoy our delicious food and beverage options from the Meerkat Bistro, Kiosk and Dino Kitchen.
The Dino Trail will be open to see the dinosaurs and maybe spot a sleeping giant tortoise. Wild Seas will also be open to dance away with our silent disco ‘In the Deep’., however the seals will not be viewable. All other animal precincts will not be open for Dinos After Dark – the animals will be fast asleep!

- Free airbrush tattooing in M Pavilion at Carousel Park

Yes, food and drinks will be available to purchase on the night.
Macaw Takeaway: serving hot food, hot chips, soft drinks and Dino Kids Boxes.
Carousel Park: Bar and Coffee Cart serving barista coffee, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tickets will only be available on the night if the event is not sold out prior. We encourage all members and visitors to pre-purchase tickets to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are not refundable.
Picnic blankets, picnic hampers, camping chairs, umbrellas, food and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted. Please note there will be ample picnic table seating available.
All daytime restrictions apply including balloons, whistles, balls, bikes, and animals (excluding seeing guide dogs). We kindly ask that you do not bring torches, white lights can be distressing to the animals living on Dino Trail. There will be sufficient lighting throughout the event. No BYO alcohol is permitted to this event.
Zoos Victoria will monitor the weather in the lead up to the event. The event will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather and at the discretion of Zoos Victoria.
Dino’s are for everyone, however Dinos After Dark may be a bit scary for some children. We encourage guardians to exercise discretion as to if it is suitable for their family.
There will be additional lighting in the event area. However, the Dino Trail will have low and aesthetic lighting as part of the experience. There will be staff situated along the trail to help guide you and provide any assistance required.
